Hello!

We first want to start out by saying how much admiration we have for you in this process. We greatly admire your courage and the love you have for your child. We cannot begin to understand how difficult this decision is for you. As you consider an adoption plan, we support any decision you make and know that you will make the best decision for you and your child.

We are Bill and Jean. We have been happily married for eight years. We knew early on in our relationship that we were meant to be together and are best friends. We have two dogs: Sparky is a Boxer mix and Hershey is Labrador mix. We have a loving home that we have wanted to share with a child. After seven years of trying, we discovered that wouldn’t be possible on our own. We always considered adoption as a wonderful way to build a family and in no way consider it a second choice. We chose domestic adoption because of the opportunity for our child to know his or her birthfamily. We are excited about the possibility of adding to our family.

We live in a suburban town outside of a major city. Our neighbors are close and have picnics throughout the summer. We have a large yard and love to spend time outdoors. We live in walking distance of the local elementary school and close to many attractions, shopping centers, libraries and restaurants. Bill is an Electrician and has his Master’s license. He also teaches night school. Jean has her Master’s degree in Elementary Education and teaches at a local elementary school.

Bill comes from a large family of two brothers and three sisters. Family is very important and we enjoy spending time with our many nieces and nephews. Bill is a quiet person upon first meeting, but has a great sense of humor as you get to know him. He enjoys collecting coins, cooking, gardening, camping and restoring his 1957 MGA Roadster. He also enjoys playing with our two dogs. Jean is originally from Philadelphia and is a huge Phillies fan. She comes from a small, but loving family. She loves to play pool and cards with her parents, brother, uncles and cousins. Jean is a people-person and loves to host gatherings of friends and family. She is also an animal lover and enjoys spending playtime with Hershey and Sparky. She loves to play on the computer and is an avid reader.

We attend a non-denominational church and enjoy attending church regularly. Our faith is important to us and we look forward to sharing it with our child. We believe that children are best raised with love and logic. Physical punishment is never an option. We believe children learn best from love and respect and will raise our children with that philosophy. In order to aid the transition as much as possible, Jean plans to stay home for three months. When she returns to teaching, we plan on placing our child in a small, in-home daycare. Jean will stay home during the summer months and all school vacations.

We have been approved to adopt through Catholic Charities. We are familiar with all levels of openness and want to work toward a level that is comfortable for everyone. We thank you for reading our profile at this challenging time and pray that you will find peace in your decision.
